Susan began her day baking beer bread with a bottle of Guinness, but she's still not sure if she liked eating bread that tasted like stout. Later this week she'll throw some caraway seeds & raisins into it and see if anyone mistakes it for Irish soda bread.

She'll also make the Guinness brownies requested by her little sister. Susan's got no idea what they'll taste like, in her mind they could go either way. But, on the slim chance they're worth making she'll hip you to the recipe.

Can you wait?

OK, that's where I went wrong. I thought you DRANK the beer bread while making bread.

My dream is to have it together enough next Thursday to celebrate, make Guinness brownies, drink Guinness, and dress my 3 week old in the St. Patty's socks I got suckered into buying out of the $1 bin at Target...

-Mom who's 2 week old screamed for hours instead of sleeping all day.

CH reads Susan with me pretty regularly. He never passes up a Guinness and he never passes up a slice of homemade bread. Lots of butter. On the bread. He thinks stout flavored bread is not to be passed up. We are waiting on Susan's take on the Guinness brownies.
